Nancy and Andrew were married at the Gypsy Tea Room in December 2020.
Doug Cranford the General Manager at the Gypsy Tea Room says his favourite days at work are the wedding days.
Cranford has worked at the Gypsy Tea Room for more than 12 years now and lights up when he speaks about hosting weddings at the downtown St. John's Water Street property.
An established favourite venue amongst local couples getting married in St. John's - recently the Gypsy Tea Room has seen even more wedding business come their way given the covid situation.
We had the chance to chat with Doug recently while he was in the middle of a back-to-back-to-back three wedding weekend.
He explained how with the Covid restrictions in place the demand for their wedding space is at an all time high.
Doug Cranford - Manager at The Gypsy Tea Room
"The private cellar and dining rooms work well with covid restrictions - and the ceremony room fits in perfectly with almost any decor."
If you are getting married in the summer months there is access to an adjacent courtyard patio that opens up reception possibilities.
Connected directly to the Murray Premises Hotel the Gypsy Tea Room has on site wedding day solutions for almost everything - including guest accommodations.
Anticipating an increase in wedding inquires and looking to update their marketing materials Cranford and the team at The Gypsy Tea Room hosted a photo session this past fall showcasing some of the best in the Newfoundland Wedding business.
By Sharpe Design helped decorate the venue before Newfoundland Wedding Photographers - Darren Hatt, Terry Day and Nate and Nicole stopped by to document the decor and ambience.
Teaming up with a group of Newfoundland wedding vendors including A+ Floral Designs - Contemporary Florist, I makes Cakes and Rodney Philpott amongst others made for a memorable day and some great photos.
