A quick visit to Kassondra Barry’s website and its easy to see why the Torbay based photographer is one of the most in demand wedding photographers in Newfoundland.
Kassondra - or Kass as she prefers - has been a professional photographer since 2010 and has a studio where she hosts a thriving portrait business. Recently you may have seen her work displayed on billboards around St. John’s.
“I’ve officially been in business for about 10 years but my love for photography started when I was given a yellow kodak camera on my 7th birthday. Since then, I've taken a camera everywhere with me and captured anything, and everything.”
Recently engaged herself - Kass’ key advice for fellow Newfoundland brides planning their wedding is to book their main vendors ASAP. “make sure you book your prime vendors first - venue, photographers, videographers and DJs tend to book quickly.”
“Wedding planning can be pretty overwhelming, so take it one task at a time. If you’re unsure of something, ask your wedding vendors. We are all here to help.”
TAKE A MOMENT TO TAKE IT ALL IN.
When asked the most important thing she is going to make sure to do on her wedding day Kass says she’s making sure to set aside time to take it all in - being present in the moment is at the top of the list.
“The main thing that I will make sure happens, is to take an hour or so out of the day just to spend with each other alone. Wedding days go by in the blink of an eye, I want to take it all in and remember every moment.”
Kass says she is in the process of adding video and drone services - and over the past year has been practicing flying her drone and video equipment in an effort to elevate her wedding collections.
“I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on.”
